How BARACLUDE can help
BARACLUDE is a prescription medicine used for chronic infection of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in adults where the virus is multiplying and damaging the liver. BARACLUDE does not cure HBV or stop you from spreading HBV to others.
BARACLUDE works to fight the hepatitis B virus and may reduce the amount of virus in the blood, which may improve the condition of your liver.
The hepatitis B virus (HBV) attacks the cells of your liver. If you have chronic (or long-term) hepatitis B, the virus can continue to multiply in your body and can lead to severe liver damage in some people.
BARACLUDE® (entecavir) works to fight the hepatitis B virus (HBV) and may reduce the amount of the virus in your blood, which may give your liver a chance to improve.
BARACLUDE may:
- Lower your hepatitis B viral levels to undetectable
Your viral levels tell how much hepatitis B virus is in your blood. If the amount is low enough, it's called "undetectable."
- Reduce the damage done to your liver
BARACLUDE may slow the amount of damage chronic infection with hepatitis B virus does to your liver. This may give your liver a chance to improve.
Individual results may vary. While taking BARACLUDE, stay under your doctor's care. Talk to your doctor if you have questions about BARACLUDE or are feeling ill.
